Narration
A comfortable chair with side arms will make getting in and out of the chair easier. Make sure the person's feet are flat on the floor, or place a stool underneath their feet, taking care that the person does not trip over it when getting up. A padded seat and back can increase the sitting comfort.

Have the person sit as close to the table as possible.

Health specialists recommend a distance of 10-12 inches from the person's plate to the person's mouth. Eating or drinking liquids and semi-solids may require an 8-10 inch distance.

If the person is distracted by something in his or her view, change the seat to face another direction.
